Show Support Pty Ltd is going extremely well and is growing rapidly. We recognize that it is because of the hard work we have all done (that means you) to make the company great. We have attained an impressive reputation in a short time and amassed a great list of freelancers and clients. Our advertising has all been word of mouth, we have never advertised or approached clients for work. But we have been selective with the clients we will service, and have knocked some clients back in order to maintain the impressive standard of our work.
We now have crews working in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on quite a regular basis. We are the first 'National Crewing Service' that can facilitate the needs of our clients anywhere in Australia, and we have Worker's Comp Policies in every state.
When an organization turns over in excess of $1,000,000 per year, such as Show Support Sydney, then that company is large enough to warrant the creation of a 'Field Manager', and we can put two people through training per year who commit to becoming long term Show Supporters. We have already in the past put Jamie Sparks and John Killgallon through their rigger's tickets and EWP tickets in the fervent hope that they will be long standing members of the organization. It is a no obligation, interest free loan for half the amount of the training. We cover the costs upfront with the other half deducted at $50 per week and we are about to undertake the next two people for this year very soon.
'Field Manager' Jamie Sparks is moving very shortly to Melbourne to become 'Ops Manager' and expand our operations in Victoria. He will be replacing Tristan Renz who has done a sterling job in building up the business down there, but alas, is too committed to his uni studies to tackle the role full time. Tristan looks forward to working as Crew Chief side by side with Jamie in Melbourne to continue the impressive work undertaken by our southern colleagues. Jamie will be replaced by Jason Thorncraft as Sydney 'Field' Manager'. You will be seeing a lot more of him in Sydney in the near future.
We also have our eyes on potential 'Field Managers' in Melbourne and Brisbane as those companies are rapidly nearing eligibility.
In Brisbane, Ops Manager Thorncraft has been very proactive in building our reputation up there. He has a unique approach to managing affairs but is a Show Supporter through and through, vigorously adhering to our business procedures. There has been nothing but positive feedback from clients about the crew in Brisbane and we are very grateful to all those people who carry the Show Support standard in the Sunshine State.
In addition to top quality 'loaders' Show Support is unique in its ability to provide skilled personnel to the entertainment industry. We have many riggers, forklift drivers, EWP operators, truck drivers who have all done extremely well.
We have also provided many high level Audio Visual Operators. These people have increased the respectability of our company as a whole through their knowledge and experience. This technical side of our organization has come through time and time again to provide Operators, many times at the last minute, for our clients with great success.
We have had nothing but positive feedback recently. The whole industry appears to be stunned by our achievements to date, and we have only just begun. People are scratching their heads in amazement, so many said 'it couldn't be done'. A professional agency, consistently and in large numbers providing experienced, reliable crew who come in and smash every gig, time after time. Impossible they said!
People who are paid properly, appreciated and treated with the respect and dignity they deserve are capable of achieving great things. That is a lesson this industry had to learn, a lesson Show Support has gladly taught.
Everyone is very impressed, you have done yourselves credit with your actions.
This is not a time to rest on your laurels or become complacent. You have the advantage and must press it home. Now is the time to redouble your efforts, strengthen your resolve and make each and every single gig a winner. Build on the great reputation you have so quickly established, make your work ethic the benchmark for all to follow, set neither measure nor limit to your merited ambition and show this industry once and for all what it means to be a 'Show Supporter!'
